Hello, I'm Ron Eckert. Thanks for stopping by, and listening to my Christmas songs, each of which are available for purchase and download via CDBaby. You may also purchase and download them via the iTunes Store and several other online music retailers.
The Wench Who Stole Christmas
“The Wench Who Stole Christmas” is somewhat of a departure for me. It began with a request from the recording engineer on my first album for me to write a Christmas song for a famous female country singer. My one great chance to write a song for an incredible singer, and all I could think of was this song, sung from a male’s viewpoint.
“The Wench,” however, is one of the funniest Christmas novelty songs you’ll ever hear, and I hope you enjoy it. The song begins somewhere in the South on the night before Christmas and ends up in Los Angeles on January 8th–Elvis's Birthday. It tells the story of a woman who lures her ex-husband into a one-night stand, drugs him, then steals his Christmas, with the help of her new boyfriend. Would any self-respecting Southern boy take that lying down? No, and that’s what the rest of the song is about. Hope you enjoy it.

They'll Always Be Christmas to Me
Family and Christmas have always held a special place in my heart. “They’ll Always Be Christmas to Me” is a nostalgic look at families at Christmas time. It’s a true story, and every person mentioned in the song is one of my family members. Every year on Christmas Day I celebrated Christmas with my Dad’s side of the family. Christmas was celebrated at Grandma’s house, where Aunt Mary and Aunt Annie would make an incredible meal, with Aunt Annie’s homemade rolls being the prime attraction. Uncle Lester would play dominoes with my Dad in the back room, and I’d watch, learning the game and listening to old stories about 1940's Texas.
Over time Aunt Annie, Uncle Lester, and Grandma have all passed away, but every year at Aunt Mary’s house I still feel their presence, see their faces, and hear their laughter. I wrote “They’ll Always Be Christmas to Me” as a tribute to them, to the Eckert family, and to the importance and value of family itself.Listen to a sample:

Home Alone for Christmas
“Home Alone for Christmas” is a song on “The Badman” album, a western concept album I recorded in 2008 at Willie Nelson's World Headquarters in Luck, Texas. It’s a melancholy song about those left alone at Christmas, when everyone else is happy and having fun.

I was born on January 8, 1969, in Odessa, Texas. This day was once a national holiday commemorating the Battle of New Orleans. It’s now celebrated across the South as Elvis’s birthday.
Growing up, I loved rockabilly, western music, country story songs, and jazz standards, influenced by Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Ricky Nelson, Johnny Horton, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Dean Martin, and Frank Sinatra. I began my career as a singer/songwriter in 2001, and have released three albums. My last album, “The Badman,” was a western concept album recorded at Willie Nelson’s World Headquarters and produced by noted producer Matt Hubbard. In November of 2009 I went to Nashville and recorded several new songs.
I hope you enjoy the Christmas songs as much as I have enjoyed writing and singing them. Thanks for listening.
